Simply put, I'm an artist
who works in metal.
Taking a raw sheet of
sterling silver,
copper or bronze,
watching and feeling it
transform, is just magical
for me.

My studio is in our
"beach cottage", as I
like to call it,
and it's usually
humming with activity,
music and a few cats
here and there.  I have
my tools - I'm happy!
Although metal is my main focus, I
also enjoy working with kiln fired
clays (such as porcelain and earthen
clays), fused glass, vitreous
enamels, resin, found objects,
altered and repurposed elements,
and more.
I show and sell my work at art
shows and exhibits, I have
successfully sold in several local
shops, and just recently,
ventured into my own online etsy
shop, which is like having my
own "brick and mortar" shop,
without the brick and mortar.
I have designed several jewelry
collections for Roman, Inc., a large,
international giftware company.
My current collection for Roman
also includes metal wall art and is
featured in their 2010 Catalog.
I'm told that my jewelry has a
natural,earthy appeal, and that my
color and texture combinations
reflect a serenity of style that can
be worn casually with jeans or be
the perfect accent for
something special.
I'm a member of the Chicago Metal
Arts Guild (CMAG), a founding
member of the newly forming
Illinois Metal Arts Guild (IMAJA) and
I served on the Northwest Area
Arts Council's Board of Directors
from April, 2009 until March 2010.

I have studied metalworking and
jewelry design for several years at
McHenry County College with a
wonderful instructor, Kim Vorel,
www.vorelart.com, and I continually
update my education through
workshops and more.
Here's a pic of a portion of my
studio. It's a nice place to be.
I am profoundly grateful to my
customers and friends. Thank
you so much for your support
and your appreciation of my work
.
