Metal, stones and clay are the foundations for my designs.

Textured, oxidized metals - copper, jeweler's bronze, "white copper" (which is mostly copper with a bit of nickel and zinc - I love it because it has the look of old silver and textures beautifully) and sterling silver.  I often use torch or kiln fired glass enamels and other ways of coloring metal to achieve rich hues and softly weathered patinas.

Primitive, earthy clay  - I work in all sorts, from kiln fired stoneware clay to polymer.

Luminous, chatoyant stones, like sunlight on water.  You'll often see Labradorite, Moonstone, Paraiba Quartz and similar stones in my work.

I'm a stickler for originality, quality and fine workmanship.

I am currently teaching metalsmithing & enameling at my studio, The Constant Muse  and I can't even describe how much I'm enjoying it!   I think my students are, too, and each one is creating wonderfully original, beautiful pieces!  It doesn't get much better for a teacher.

I'm a member of the Chicago Metal Arts Guild (CMAG), a founding member of the newly forming Illinois Metal and Jewelry Artists Guild (IMAJA) and I served on the Northwest Area Arts Council's Board of Directors from April, 2009 until March 2010.

I studied metalworking and jewelry design for almost four years  (yes, I just kept going back!) at McHenry County College with Kim Vorel, and I continually update my education through workshops and more.
In 2009, I participated in an intensive Enameling workshop with Linda Darty (The Art of Enameling) and I have been honing my enameling skills since that time.

Since 2006, I have designed and licensed several jewelry, ornament and wall art collections to Roman, Inc., a large international giftware company headquartered in Carol Stream, IL, which produces and sells them nationwide.
